Michael Yuen, a Silicon Valley resident, is an advisor to Cypress Capital Group and is a private investor.
Previously, Mr. Yuen spent 12 years with SPO Partners, an investment partnership managing over $7 billion of capital, serving as a partner for the last eight years. He led the firm’s investments in wireless telephony towers, offshore drilling rigs, and oil & gas producers. Mr. Yuen was also involved with the firm’s acquisition of 17 luxury hotels and two hotel management companies valued at $1.7 billion. Earlier in his career, he was with McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Yuen currently serves on the Rice University Board of Trustees. Previously he served on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Management Board, the Harvard University China Advisory Group, the UCSF Foundation Investment Committee, the Making Waves Foundation Board of Directors, and the Menlo School Board of Trustees.
Mr. Yuen received his M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a M.A. from Harvard University, and a B.A. from Rice University.
